I’ve had to take a number of steps, to reduce spam. The first step I took was to disable my email catch-all.

If you don’t know what a catch-all does for your domain, it does this -

When any email addressed to that domain arrives, it goes into a special POP account. This is useful because some people my enter your email incorrectly and you’ll still get it. Unfortunately, spammers would create bogus email addresses and send email to them.

The last time I checked I had received 376 copies of one spam. Only 2 of them were addressed to real email addresses that I used.

So, the catch-all had to go. Immediately about 90% of my spam was gone. I still had a huge problem though. Over 2000 spam messages a day.

Setting up desktop filters wasted too much time.
